Welcome to "Bring the Books"

Back to regular posting...Lord willing. Here is what you can look forward to on a regular basis, at least for awhile...aren't you excited!

Monday - "Quote" feature
Tuesday - "We surf...so you don't have to" feature
Friday - "Something Light" feature

We'll have the occasional book review and random posts thrown in for good measure. Let me know your thoughts!

Just as a reminder for those that are just happening on this blog. As noted on the sidebar, this blog is designed for my family. These are things I want them to read, see, hear and learn. It is eclectic by nature. If you happen upon this blog and find it interesting then you are welcome to peruse at your leisure. If you happen upon this blog and find it silly, weird or "fill-in-the-blank" then remember...it wasn't designed for you. I do hope, however, that, for the most part, you come closer to the understanding that our only hope of salvation is in Jesus Christ who absorbed our sin and took on the just wrath of God. We can know that hope only by repenting (confessing and forsaking our sin) and trusting in Him for our salvation.

I'll Be Back

This blog has been inactive because life has been active! I haven't forgotten about it nor have I decided to stop posting. My original goal was 100 posts and then to take some time to re-evaluate the purpose of the blog. I hit that goal in late November. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's came along with transportation and work issues thrown in to delay any evaluation until now. I plan to continue posting sparsely for another month or so. I still have plans for the blog and hope you continue to read when you have the time. Look for my next post on Bible reading and then keep an eye out for future plans.

Hovering Verses

Often all you need are a few key words to remember the full text of a Bible verse. A recent addition to the site here makes it easy to get those “few key words” for any Bible reference on this blog. As an example, hold your cursor over the text of the following Bible reference, Romans 3:28. A window pops up instantly when your cursor hovers over the reference. If you want more verses, or more context for the verse, you can click on the “more” hyperlink and it will take you to http://www.biblegateway.com/ for more verses or the complete chapter. It works automatically for any Bible reference posted on the blog.

This is a free tool called RefTagger provided by http://www.logos.com/. You can find out more information here and here if you would like to add this helpful tool to your site.
