Bring the Books

When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments. 2 Timothy 4:13

No Bible, no blog

If you have time to read this blog today but have not taken the time to read your Bible then you do not have time to read this blog.

(e.g., John 1 or God's love)

About Me

Mike Gibbons
Texas, United States
I am a reader of much, a husband of one, a father of two, a physical brother of two, the spiritual brother of many, an uncle of nine, a friend of some, a priest to all (1 Peter 2:9), a citizen of two (Philippians 3:20) and a follower of One.

What is This Blog About?

This blog is designed for my family. These are things I want them to read, see, hear and learn. A lot of the posts will be related to books or learning from others, as inspired by the apostle Paul and the following quote from Charles Spurgeon, commenting on 2 Timothy 4:13:

"He is inspired, and yet he wants books! He has been preaching at least for thirty years, and yet he wants books! He had seen the Lord, and yet he wants books! He had had a wider experience than most men, and yet he wants books!...He who will not use the thoughts of other men's brains, proves that he has no brains of his own."

If you happen upon this blog and find it interesting then you are welcome to peruse at your leisure. If you happen upon this blog and find it silly, weird or "fill-in-the-blank" then remember...it wasn't designed for you. I do hope, however, that, for the most part, you come closer to what it means to be a Christian.
