Quote - The Gift of Grace

"In the same way that the men's eyes - not by their own choice - had been restrained [because they had known Jesus before], now their eyes were opened - not by their own power. Someone had provided them with the capacity to see. The ability to recognize Jesus for who He is, to believe that He paid the ultimate price for our sins, and to receive His amazing grace is a free gift. It is not something you and I are capable to see on our own. We cannot earn it...our desire to see doesn't get it done. Only our willingness to receive God's gift of faith opens our eyes and hearts to receive the gift of His grace."

Robert Wolgemuth, on Luke 24:16-31, from 7 Things You Better Have Nailed Down
